Updates
Man, is it ever QUIET in here! Y'all gotta start contributing some info, or I'll have my mother come over and nag you (and she's gooood)... =;-)
So I'll do some quick updates here:
- I can confirm that aforementioned mother, and her spouse, have returned from their winter hiatis in Florida.
- Oldest brother has been re-assigned to to the Middle East and leaves in a couple of weeks... In Oman, I believe, but he can fill in some of the information here. He should be back (hopefully permanently) around Thanksgiving, as he will have been active for 2 years (for those that don't know, Mike was full-time Air Force for about 7 years (I think), and in the Reserves ever since). You can shoot him an email here if you want. Keep the helmet on dude.
- My two nieces are still as cute as the dickens (my mom just sent us a CD full of pics from the holidays). And who actually says "cute as the dickens," let alone types it?
- Rumors swirl of yet another engagement. I won't say who, but I will let slip that it is from the Wisconsin faction of the family.
- Cresencia is now a Marketing Specialist at San Diego Regional Energy Office (a non-profit that promotes energy conservation and alternative energy sources). She also is still on track to complete her MBA in Business Marketing this winter at SDSU (yes, the wife has an incredible work ethic).
- Her brother (and by deduction, my brother-in-law), just got transferred to the Vice Squad in Chicago's finest. So if you ever get busted in a prostitution sting by an asian guy, just mention my name (not that it'll help, I just like people saying my name when they are in embarrasing situations).
- I got accepted to the visual communications MFA program at SDSU, and will start full-time in the fall. I just met the faculty last Friday, and learned that only 3 candidates were offered entry this year (whew!), so I am extremely flattered. So yes, I am going back to school at the ripe old age of 34. If you are curious, a version of my application that got me in can be seen here (or if you just wanna know what the hell I actually do for a living). So it looks like we'll be here in San Diego for a few more years.
- I'm still pretty active in our group blog, Chaos Digest (actually, it is mostly my friend Rob and I who post there). Feel free to visit, and visit often... and join in the comments (we like people who comment)... tell your friends!
- We attended opening night at PetCo Stadium (the Padres won in extra innings, and we both got free hats).
- And yes, the weather is still obnoxiously beautiful (ahh... shorts in January... at night).
