Things 2 Do
The parents are coming to visit my blushing bride and I next week, so I thought I'd make a list (in no particular order) of...
Things to possibly do/see in sunny (but not humid) San Diego:
- We are here
- Gliding (Cres and I saw this once... you can just jump off a cliff, fly around for hours sometimes, and land in the same place!)
- The best sport in the world
- Kayaking [2]
- Surfing [2]
- Hot Air Balloons and other ideas
- Beaches: Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Mission Bay, Imperial Beach, Point Loma, La Jolla Cove... lots and lots o' beaches...
- Desert (2 hours away) and Mountain hiking (30-40 minutes away) [2]
- Del Mar Racetrack
- Balboa Park: [map] in heart of city, home of about 20 museums and a ton of green space
- Golfing: Home of Torrey Pines (which is muy expensive for non-San Diegans) and a ton (92!!) of other courses here.
- Gaslamp (16-block national historic district that offers tons o' bars and restaurants)
- Aircraft Carrier tour
- San Diego Maritime Museum - consists of three ships: the Star of India, the Berkeley and the Medea.
- Coronado Island (and Hotel del Coronado)
- Seaworld
- The World Famous San Diego Zoo / Wild Animal Park
- Seaport Village shoreline shopping center with 75 specialty shops and eateries.
- La Jolla: beautiful shore and views in an Evanston-like city (only better).
- San Diego Automotive Museum - vintage automobiles and motorcycles
- Horton Plaza: no surprise, there is plenty of shopping here too
- San Diego.org
- Hidden San Diego
- San Diego North
- bullfighting and, of course, shopping
